Big Fish - Men's Long Sleeve Cotton Printed Shirt

The Fish Shirt is the shirt that started it all. In 1994, artist Desré Buirski gifted it to Nelson Mandela with a handwritten note that read, “Thank you for everything you have done and all the sacrifices you have made for our beloved country.” The design was inspired by her father, who loved fishing along the Cape Town coast. Mandela first wore the shirt on 11 May 1994 to the dress rehearsal for the opening of Parliament. That moment marked the beginning of the Presidential Shirt brand. Made from 100% cotton, the shirt features a patch front pocket, single cuff and a classic collar. It is a timeless piece that carries the spirit of gratitude, heritage and South African storytelling.

We advise hand wash in lukewarm water to ensure maximum protection of one's shirt, however a machine wash at no more than 30 degrees is acceptable.

One should never tumble dry your shirt, always hang dry, and it should be ironed while still slightly damp to ensure best results. Do not bleach or starch your shirt as this will weaken the cotton fibbers and cause the fabric to become brittle and tear.
