Big Fish Black Tan Batik Long Sleeve Breathable Rayon Casual Shirt
The Fish Shirt was first given as a gift to Nelson Mandela in 1994 by Desré Buirski. She handed it to his bodyguard with a note saying “Thank you for everything you have done and all the sacrifices you have made for our beloved country”. The design was inspired by Desre’s Father, who used to fish in Cape Town. Nelson Mandela wore this shirt on the 11th of May 1990 to the dress rehearsal of the opening of Parliament.
This shirt started the brand Presidential Shirt.
The 1994 Fish Shirt is a long-sleeved shirt with a non-fused collar, single cuff, and a front pocket. The 100% viscose fabric is made by hand-wax-stamp-batik techniques which leaves every shirt unique and slightly different. Viscose is comfortable, soft to the skin and absorbent which makes it an ideal summer fabric. This shirt comes in a classic casual fit, to be worn untucked.

Wash Care
We advise hand wash in luke warm water to ensure maximum protection of ones shirt, however a machine wash at no more than 30 degrees is acceptable.
One should never tumble dry your shirt, always hang dry, and it should be ironed cool while still slightly damp to ensure best results. Do not bleach or starch your shirt as this will weaken the cotton fibers and cause the fabric to become brittle and tear.
